Christian Service Brigade
What is CSB?
Christian Service Brigade provides gender specific ministries where men train boys
and women train girls. They provide programs for boys from ages 4 to 18 and for girls
from grades 1 to 6. Here at Rockyview we provide Battalion for boys ages 12 to 18.
Each group is assigned a unit number, ours is Unit 3628, and operates independently
from other groups and from the CSB staff. The CSB staff are available to support the
individual groups, to train the leaders, and to provide program materials.
The program materials center around the weekly meeting. They contain a solid
Scriptural core consisting of Bible study and memorization. In addition there is a
definite emphasis on the building of skills in combination with the head knowledge.
With the older groups a significant amount of physical games and activity are added.
In addition the CSB staff help to coordinate various cross-group activities every year.
These include floor hockey tournaments, campouts, ski trips, and a summer camp.
Battalion
Battalion is a program for boys ages 12 to 18 with an emphasis on leadership
training. As the boys get older they are given leadership tasks in terms of
planning and running games, special events as well as teaching skills and Bible
studies.
What about the dads?
We strongly encourage dads to come with their boys to the weekly meetings. In addition
to helping out the leaders, this is an excellent opportunity for you to spend some quality
time with your boy.
